Cohorts

Dismantling bias begins in our bodies. Anti-racist embodied work looks different for white bodies and for bodies of culture. As such, we are offering cohorts for people who are interested in entering into community with Unity Project.

These cohorts are designed for:

Adults of all ages,

People who are interested in joining the singing collective eventually,

People who want to learn more about dismantling bias and embodied anti-racism, without singing with our collective,

Leaders looking to advance their own personal work in anti-racism and building diverse communities.

More Details

  • The ACCU (White Bodied) Cohort and UP & Rooted (for culture-bodied participants) will be separate spaces most of the time, allowing for identity-based reflection and learning.

Participation in these groups serves as an incremental step toward the Unity Project collective— you cannot join the singing collective without first engaging in this work.

    • Cohorts will meet 2 times a month for six months.

    • There will be opportunities to meet in-person or online.

    • Times of meetings will be determined separately in each cohort.

    • Cohorts can be taken more than one time.

  • All participants contribute financially through a monthly sliding scale fee.
No one attends for free — everyone invests in the space, in the way they can.

    Sliding Scale Tiers:

    • $10/month – Rooted in Community → For those navigating financial barriers shaped by systemic inequities but still committed to the work.

    • $25/month – Sustaining the Work → For those who can contribute a little more while balancing other financial responsibilities.

    • $45/month – Resourcing the Movement → For those with financial stability who can support at a sustaining level.

    • $65/month – Redistributing Access → For those with greater financial privilege who can help remove barriers for others.

    Payment Guidelines:

    • Participants self-select their tier based on guided descriptions.

    • Payments are due at the start of each month.

    • If finances feel tight, please don’t carry that alone. Reach out, and we will work with you—this is a shared space, and we hold each other with care.

    • Cohort Commitment: By enrolling, participants are committing to the full six-month cohort. If a participant chooses to withdraw before the cohort ends, they are still responsible for paying the full six months of fees, regardless of early departure.

    • All participants must volunteer monthly, selecting roles that support the group and Unity Project’s work.

    • Roles include event support, admin help, outreach, tech/media, and logistical support.

    • Volunteers sign up each month based on availability and capacity.

    • This is a community-led space—participants check in with each other if commitments are missed.

    • If someone does not meet their payment or volunteer commitment, they will:

      1. Receive a check-in from their peers (first step).

      2. Be given an opportunity to make up missed contributions (if applicable).

      3. Receive admin follow-up if non-participation continues.

      4. Lose access to the affinity group if commitments remain unmet.
